FAQ

  1. What is the maximum weight that a passenger may be?
This will be dependent on the weight of the pilot you are flying with as well as the amount of fuel in the tank as it also affects the total weight but as a rule of thumb it is around 120kg. Please call and chat to us about this if you are slightly heavier and we can do our best to accommodate.
  2. What must you wear?
Even on warm days, the air at heights can be cool so we recommend bringing a sweater or fleece. It is important to wear closed shoes.
  3. Do we have to supply anything?
No, The Club supplies goggles and headsets.
  4. Can you wear your spectacles under the goggles?
Yes, The Club has speciality Goggles, designed to accommodate spectacles.
  5. Do you fly by yourself?
No, you are a passenger. The pilot is in full control of the aircraft at all times.
  6. Can I talk to my partner in the other aircraft?
All aircraft share a common frequency but chatter over the Aviation Radio is not permitted.
  7. Can I talk to my pilot?
Yes, the headsets we supply are connected to an intercom system, so you just speak normally and your pilot can hear you and answer.
  8. What is the best time to fly?
Usually the morning and evenings are best, but on some days midday is best. It all depends on the weather conditions. We will advise you about expected conditions the day before your flight.
  9. What is the best flight option?
The best option is that which suits your budget but no one ever says they wish they flew for a shorter time!
  10. How long before our booking do we have to arrive?
Preferably 15 minutes before in order to complete the paperwork and prepare for the flight.
  11. How long does it take to get to the airfield?
Best is to use google maps and see how far we are from your current location. Generally it takes 30 minutes from Ocho Rios, around 1.5hrs from Falmouth and 2hrs from Montego Bay. Coming from the opposite direction Annotto Bay is 45 minutes away and Port Antonio is 1.5 hrs.
  12. How fast does the microlight fly?
We average 80-100kmph. It is not necessary to fly very fast.
  13. Is it dangerous?
Our Instructors are extremely well trained and the aircraft are exceptionally well manufactured and maintained. We can even switch the engine off and you will simply glide down. You will not "fall out of the sky" as the wing is like a hangglider. We believe it is the safest way to fly!
  14. How do we pay?
Payment will generally be made wherever you have booked the flight. If it is done online, through our website, payment can be made via a secure link. Alternatively credit card facilities are available at the airfield and we do accept cash in the form of Jamaican dollars, USD or Euros.
  15. How soon before the flight do we have to book?
There is no fixed time frame on this. Flights are based on availability and weather conditions. We always recommend you do not leave it for the end of your holiday in case the weather deteriorates and you then miss out on the opportunity.
  16. What is the minimum and maximum age?
The minimum age is 8 and there is no fixed maximum. To date our oldest passenger was 90. That said, any child who is mature, big for their age and confident, may be flown at the discretion of the Chief Pilot on duty.
  17. Can you fly if you are ill?
If you are ill, it is not a good idea to fly. Please contact us to reschedule if you have already booked.
  18. Can you fly if you are wheelchair bound?
